  • joanne chan
    Dr. Joanne Chan
    Optometrist

    Dr. Joanne Chan is a southern California native and earned her Bachelors degree from the University of California, Riverside.  She received her Doctor of Optometry from Marshall B. Ketchum University, SCCO in Fullerton, CA.  Dr. Chan completed her primary care/cornea and contact lens residency at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs in Salt Lake City, UT.  She specializes in fitting contact lenses for irregular corneas and anterior segment conditions and has extensive training in rigid gas permeable, scleral, hybrid and custom soft lenses.  While receiving her undergraduate education, Dr. Chan cofounded The Literacy Initiative to provide children with access to books and tutors to increase the literacy rate of the children in Riverside.  While in optometry school, Dr. Chan volunteered with the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes to provide visual screenings and eyeglasses and traveled to Vietnam to give free eye exams with VN Hope Mission.  She also spent her time volunteering with the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic in the greater Los Angeles County providing free eye exams and glasses to underserved communities.

    Dr. Chan has a special interest in helping restore vision in patients with irregular corneas and anterior surface disease through her knowledge of specialty contact lenses.  She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Utah Optometric Association and the Asian American Optometric Society.  In her free time Dr. Chan enjoys hiking and camping in our beautiful state of Utah and spending time with her husband and 2 pug dogs.


  • Dr. Buresh
    Dr. Karri A. Buresh
    Optometrist

    Dr. Buresh is an Iowa native and completed her bachelors of science at Iowa State University. (Go Cyclones!) She received her doctor of optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.

    Dr. Buresh has been an active member of the American Optometric Association and Utah Optometric Association since 2003. She was named “Young Optometrist of the Year” by the Utah Optometric Association in 2007 and has served in roles as board member of the UOA and as the state leader for the AOA’s InfantSEE program. She has been an active member of Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity and has traveled to Belize, Costa Rica, and Paraguay to provide free exams and give glasses to those in need. Dr. Buresh served on the Special Olympics Utah Board as Healthy Athletes Chairperson for 6 years and served as the Clinical Director for Opening Eyes, a program which provides free eye care and eyeglasses to Special Olympic athletes.

    Dr. Buresh specializes in neuro-optometry and helps patients who have experienced a neurological disruption such as concussion, TBI or stroke.  She is passionate about restoring the eye-brain pathway through vision rehabilitation, optical lens correction, photo light therapy and yoga therapy.

    Dr. Buresh also specializes in ocular surface disease and dry eye treatments.  She enjoys walking patients through their story of dry eye using the Oculus 5M Keratograph and creating a customized treatment plan for each patient.

    When not at the clinic, you can find Dr. Buresh spending time with her husband and kids. She enjoys snow skiing, scuba diving, yoga and traveling.

  • Dr. Lauren Stephens
    Dr. Lauren Stephens
    Optometrist

    Dr. Lauren Stephens is an Iowa native and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from Ohio State University College of Optometry.  Dr. Stephens has extensive training in ocular disease, contact lenses, binocular vision and pediatrics. She was an active member of Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity and traveled to Peru to provide free eye care to those in need. She looks forward to participating in visual screenings and eye exams to children here in Utah and around the world.

    Dr. Stephens’ clinical interests include the treatment and management of ocular disease and binocular vision. 

    She is especially passionate about the treatment of binocular vision conditions in school-age children and loves to see children in the eye clinic!  

    Dr. Stephens has a calm and playful personality with children, making her an ideal eye doctor for your child. 

    In her free time, Dr. Stephens enjoys hiking, skiing, and watching Creighton Bluejay basketball – go Jays!

  • Dr. Kaeleen Franson
    Dr. Kaeleen Franson
    Optometrist

    Dr. Kaeleen Franson is a Nebraska native and earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Part of her training while in optometry school included rotations specializing in glaucoma and ocular disease, contact lenses and pediatrics. While receiving her education, she was an active member in the local Lions Club Chapter and the Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity student chapter. Through these organizations, Dr. Franson was able to help under-served populations gain access to optometric healthcare both in the United States and Mexico. She continues to have a life long passion for helping others gain access to eyeglasses and healthcare and has participated in several community health events.

    Dr. Franson has a special interest in treating dry eye and other ocular surface diseases. She is an active member of the Utah Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. In her free time, Dr. Franson enjoys multiple outdoor activities with her family and dog.
